What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is a medicinal oil derived from the hemp plant. It is a cannabinoid and a natural extract that some people find useful or helpful for a variety of health issues. The short answer is that it is from the same kind of plant as marijuana, but not the same plant, and the hallucinogenic chemicals are not there in any significant quantities. In fact, the CBD oil we recommend is third party certified to contain less than 0.1%THC, the “high”-inducing chemical in marijuana.

Is CBD oil made from marijuana?

Although the hemp plant that is used to make CBD oil is related to the marijuana plant, it is a different type of cannabis species. CBD oil is from the same plant used for hemp products.

Is there THC in CBD oil?

Most CBD oil is made from the kind of cannabis plant that is used to make hemp products. That plant contains very little THC, the substance in marijuana that causes the “high” feeling. Many CBD oils go an extra step and filter out even the small amount of THC so there is not more than a trace, so that it will not produce a “high” feeling or show up on a drug test.

What kind of CBD oil is the safest to take?

We recommend using the THC-free variety. Also, many people prefer to start out with a weaker mixture, until they find the concentration that works for them. A little goes a long way.

Why is some CBD oil so cheap online? Is it the same product?

You get what you pay for. Many of the oils you see on Amazon or sold cheaply elsewhere are really just hemp oil, and not nearly as strong or effective as true CBD oil. Always look for the number of milligrams of CBD. Any reputable seller will include that information.
